Illustration commissions are a rare treat and I love architectural commissions. My most recent client was demanding, highly critical and could not make up her mind, but gave me a good idea of the kind of revisions would come from a challenging client. She was looking for a vintage, block print style illustration that would highlight the history of her home, and would showcase the charm of the character in the historic district. I am glad to say that she was 100% satisfied in the end. Thankfully, because I was my own client!

Historic Home – Watercolor commission

Sometimes owning an old home, or bungalow in this case is a labor of love. If you sit too long, you find new projects and improvements or restorations that you might want to complete, depending on your comfort with difficulty, determination and sometimes disregard for plumb and level. My client wanted a pretty portrait of her old lady that was only a little closer to centenarian than mine. I enjoyed this project and am happy to know her!
