Back out into the art world – May, 2026

I am looking forward to visiting with the Gadsden community with interests in the arts. I will be exhibiting at The Alabama Arts Trail on Broad on May 8-9, 2026.

It’s been a few years since my first markets (RIP Art on the Rocks), and I was shy to get back into it. I got a note from Ray Wetzel at the Gadsden Museum of Art to see if I was going to participate, and when I learned some very encouraging news:

  • The booth fee is $40.
  • The city of Gadsden / Etowah County do NOT require a business license for this event.
  • The event is free to attend.

I paint in my spare time, but would like to share with the world, but would rather avoid $150+ to make that happen. To share affordable little art treats that people can buy mom this weekend, and raise enough funds to purchase myself a few new watercolors for my collection – would be gratifying enough for moi. I hope that they make this happen again in the future for people who don’t generally sell their work, but might just venture out and hear some good words about their creative pieces and allow the community to know art lives among them every day. With the availability of payment apps for small transactions like these, it makes it easier to gather in this way. This event has been enthusiastically promoted by the Alabama Visual Arts Network, The Gadsden Museum of Art, the Mary G. Hardin Center for Performing Arts, and many other local businesses. this is a great collaboration amongst people in the arts that collectively want the artists and event to succeed, rather than the city events department gathering $40 per person and be done with their commitment.

Here are a few pieces that will be at the show.

These 10 prints will be available on a natural uncoated cover paper stock, and also on coated pearlescent paper stock.
